I have a mania for making compilations that, in my fantasies, are liked so much by the artists/record companies that they actually end up releasing them! I try hard to make my compilations flow like 'real' albums, with two sides and a total playing length of around 45-50 minutes. I make an effort to include only the best tracks, and not songs just because they were hits or became popular for other reasons. This is why sometimes a track you may expect to see included in a compilation won't be there. I hope you like them and will share them with others!

My first compilation: The Best of Honeybus

The Honeybus had a top ten hit in the UK in 1968, 'I Can't Let Maggie Go,' but never repeated the success. If you listen to this compilation of (what I regard as) their best tracks you may first this very hard to believe. Personally, I cannot understand why 'Girl of Independent Means' wasn't huge. Most of the other tracks are also brilliant, or very close to it. I think I've put together a set of Honeybus tracks that's as good as any album released in the '60s. I hope after listening to it you feel the same.

Six of the songs I included in the above compilation have videos on YouTube. Unfortunately, none show the band performing the songs, but if you've never heard any Honeybus at all, this is as good a way to sample the songs as any.
